Hawk, Tampa

Hawk

My late husband Brian and I had a wonderful house in Tampa, which had a big woods behind it -- a conservation area never to be built upon. Thus, we had a lot of beautiful bird sightings, in addition to wild boar sightings and the night time sounds of alligators.  Thankfully those scary animals couldn't climb the wall between our yard and the forest. But so many other interesting critters would visit our yard. We saw many pileated woodpeckers and heard their loud knocking. Hawks were also frequent visitors, surveying the yard for lizards, baby animals and the like.  One hawk got a kitten, and lost its grasp.  I will post a photo of that kitten and tell the story of what happened to him.
